Securities Expert Witness - The CFA Designation

What is the CFA designation?

The CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation is the highest professional designation available to investment professionals involved in investment research, securities analysis, portfolio management, and other parts of the investments industry. The designation is awarded by the international CFA Institute to individuals who have successfully completed rigorous testing, demonstrated years of professional practice in the field, and promised to adhere to a strict and comprehensive Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice. First created in the 1960s, the Code and Standards are the ethical benchmark for investment professionals around the globe, regardless of job title, cultural differences, or local laws.

CFA: THE GOLD STANDARD "The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification is roughly equivalent to a specialized postgraduate finance degree, including a mixture of economics, ethics, law, and accountancy. It is much liked by employers in financial services. Whereas there are tens of thousands of finance degrees available around the world, ranging from the excellent to the worthless, there is only one CFA, managed and examined by an American association of financial professionals, the CFA Institute."
The Economist magazine, 2/26/2005

Bill was awarded the CFA designation in 1989 and has maintained it in good standing since that time. He is on the Board of Directors of the CFA Society of Milwaukee, is the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice Liaison to the CFA Institute, and is on the CFA Institute's Ethics Task Force.
